Thank you!!!!!!
I will share a list of who inspired viewers on the episode December 3rd of
That Sewing Blab. I will collate all the fabulous sewists who have inspired you in each category and list them all here after the December 3rd episode. I'll paste a link to this episode on the That
Sewing Blab Facebook Page. I hope to see you there.
Swimsuit month kicked off with a bang with an interview with the pattern designer
Susan Goodwin. She not only discussed her sewing journey and starting her independent pattern company but also shared some amazing tips for sewing swimsuits.
For the second episode in the series, we two experienced sewists gave their tips for
sewing swimsuits. Deepika (the Pattern Nerd) from Pattern Review.com shared a list of her favourite swimsuit patterns. Johanna from the fabulous blog and YouTube channel the Last Stitch shared tips
for sewing swimsuit fabrics and using a coverstitch machine. Which is fitting as we interviewed her earlier about her newest book Mastering the Coverstitch Machine,
The third show in the series featured 6 talented sewists giving reviews of six
different independent swimsuit patterns. My only problem with this show is now I want to sew all six suits!
We ended off the series by discussing beach cover-ups.

Shirtmaking month was our first stab at holding a themed month on That Sewing Blab.
It went so well we have planned other theme months throughout the year.
We kicked off the month with an interview with David Page Coffin. He is a fantastic author who has written my favourite sewing books. He joined us to discuss his latest book, Sewing Shirts with a
Perfect Fit.
For the second episode in the series, we invited three experienced sewists to join us
on the show to share their shirtmaking tips. We were lucky enough to be joined by Deepika from Pattern Review.com, Darrell Grahan from Darrel Thomas Textiles, and Duane from Manely Menswear. They
also shared some of their favourite tools, supplies and patterns for shirtmaking.
We ended off the series with an interview with Sheri from Confessions of a
Refashionista. She discussed refashioning men's dress shirts.

In November we asked viewers of the show to fill in a questionnaire listing their favourite sewists and sewing related companies in various categories. We had a fabulous response from our lovely viewers. On December 11th we will dedicate a whole episode of That Sewing Blab to cover the TSB Viewer's Choice Awards (now known as Talent Celebration). On the night viewers will vote for the favourite out of the finalists. * Here is the link for the live show!! To watch the replay, please visit the Duelling Designs YouTube channel where all our replays can be found.
There so many talented people in the sewing community and it has been fabulous to recognize their hard work on the show. Although there will be a winner in each category it ends up that we are
the true winners, as we get to revisit some of our favourite sewing personalities and learn about new ones too. I am thrilled to have learned about a bunch of new talented people to binge-watch
their videos and read their blogs. I think I am guaranteed to be inspired in 2019 and I hope you will be too!
The pdf document below is a document listing everyone who was nominated and their links so you can find them online.
*Why did we vote twice? Viewers voted once in the survey and once on air, why? Unfortunately, you cannot add names into the polling feature on the platform we hold the live show on, Crowdcast. You can only vote in a multiple choice fashion.
That Sewing Blab featued a series, “So You Think You Can Sew” on our weekly LIVE shows from September through to November of 2017 and 2019. Join us as talented sewists go head-to-head in
sewing challenges. Live viewers were able to vote for the winners of each round.

How Does the Competition Work? Closed until July 2020
The So You Think You Can Sew competition will take over That Sewing Blab for the first and third Tuesday of the month (September-November). On the first show of the month, we will introduce the
contestants and they will open the packages we sent them earlier in the mail that contain the mystery item they must use for the challenge.
The third Tuesday of the month they return to reveal the garments they have made using the mystery item. They discuss their creative process, and how things went during the construction of their
garment. The audience will then vote (live) for their favourite garment.
The winners of round one and round two then face off in the finals (in November)following the same format as the months prior. The winner of this round will be the winner of the Sew You Think You Can Sew competition.
Contestants for Season Two:
The contestants for the first round of the Sew You Think You Can Sew competition were Patrice Johnson and Tisa Taylor. The second round featured Andréanne and Katelyn. The finals saw Andréanne and Patrice competing with Patrice winning the finals.
